77-79 YZ 125 owners measure your stock components. The OD on this stator plate measures 110mm. The small end of the crank taper should measure 11.40mm. You may need the earlier ignition depending on your engine specs.
The kit includes a stator, CDI, coil magneto, plug cap, and mounting hardware. This ignition has no lighting coils. It is for motocross use. HPI is the go to source for electronic ignitions for vmx and pvmx bikes.
These kits are universal applications. Some models may require you to drill larger mounting holes, sand a section of the mounting plate with a file to open up a slot or sand mounts down. Some bikes do required the use of extra gaskets under the ignition cover to make enough clearance for the stator. The magnetos do not have a keyway. You have to set the timing with a dial indicator and then torque down the crank nut. They stay in place once tightened. -

Please note that on certain early models, you will have to purchase a new crank nut for the rotor. The stock longer nut does not work. Your local hardware store should have the 1.25 or 1.50 pitch metric nut required. -
